Martingale – Stitch This! – How to Quilt

I subscribe to Stitch This! This months newsletter has a how to quilt segment. This free Quilting Guide is from That Patchwork Place. It’s free and has quilting methods that will take you from first stitch to last. It’s a quilting course at your fingertips. Enjoy! I’m just sharing interesting information for quilters.

How to Quilt

Quick and Easy . . .

I became fascinated with half square triangles.  So I began searching the Internet for quick and easy ways to make them. Using Jenny Doan’s method you can make four at a time. I also came across other methods where you can make more than four at a time.  During my search I came across a blog that had a tutorial for making a Hunter’s Star using HSTs. This was a quick and easy way to make HSTs. I have to try this. I’ve added the link for the tutorial. I will also post my pictures when I make my first Hunter’s Star block.

Interesting Info . . .

I love learning new things. I’ve been sewing and crafting for a long time now. I’ve been quilting on and off for about ten years now. I took my first class in 2003. My teacher was great! She taught hand quilting and I really loved it. As we progressed we used our sewing machines too. I made my first sampler and gave it to my mom. I wish I had taken a picture of it because she doesn’t have it anymore. I’m a lifelong learner and I enjoy passing on what I’ve learned. Quilty Pleasures (Quiltmakers Blog) has useful information. I’ve attached the links below. Hope this information can be useful for beginner quilters.
