New Beginnings . . . Week 34

Nineteen weeks to go . . . I’m drawn to the bag side, ha ha ha haaaaaaa!

Oh well, I’m thirty minutes late! I didn’t get my project in on time. It was due on the twenty-seventh; however, I made my first Sweetpea Pod. I used Craftsy’s video tutorial The One-Zip Way, with Jane Hawley. I love her zipper technique. I’ve decided to make another one.

New Beginnings . . . Week 25

Twenty-eight weeks to go . . . There’s nothing new under the sun, just your interpretation.

This week I created something that was not sewn. I like to dabble in screen printing, so today I took a CYMK (cyan, yellow, magenta, and black) screen printing workshop at the Newark Print Shop. It’s not easy working with four colors but the results are awesome. Watching your colors blend before your eyes is really cool! My tester was done on paper, and then I screened a tote bag (not shown) and t-shirt. I used a picture of a quilt that I made. This is definitely an interesting process. The photo on the left is printed on paper, the middle photo (t-shirt) first yellow and then cyan, and the last photo (t-shirt) has all four colors.

New Beginnings . . . Week 18

Thirty-five weeks to go . . . Today was a great day to be creative. So, I decided to make a Mini Sew Together Bag; pattern by Michelle of  SewDemented, and the conversion worksheet for the mini was created by Elizabeth E. of OPQuilt.com. The original Sew Together Bag pattern is needed for the conversion. I also used the Sew Along tutorial that I found on The Quilt Barn‘s blog.
Wow! I can’t believe it! I finished it! This is a first for me, since I began my New Beginnings Challenge. I’m usually rushing to create something on Sunday; just to meet my deadline. WooHoo!

New Beginnings . . . Week 17

Thirty-six weeks to go . . . I haven’t got a clue! Not sure what I’ll create this week.

Another busy week, spending time with family and friends. We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday on Saturday, April 29th. So, I didn’t have time to think about making anything, until today. Since my guild NJMQG ( North Jersey Modern Quilt Guild) will be making the Open Wide Zippered Pouch: DIY Tutorial by Anna Graham. I decided to have a dry-run and make a sample first. You can find the tutorial at Noodlehead.

New Beginnings . . . Week 16

Thirty-seven weeks to go . . . Where will my creativity and the Internet take me this week?!

I didn’t make it in time! I’m sixteen minutes late, but I did finish my project for week 16. I made another One Hour Basket; mine took much longer because I made a scrappy quilt as you go exterior (front and back). You will love this quick and easy project. 1 Hour Basket Tutorial
