Finish; Complete . . . Month 1

I have so many unfinished quilt projects that I’ve started years ago. I’ve decided to challenge myself this year and complete my works in progress (WIP). I’m going to post my progress weekly. I’ll show pics of what it looks like before I begin.
I’ve changed my mind and decided to make this a monthly challenge because it’s all about finishing and completing my WIPs. If I have time I will blog my progress weekly.

This is my first WIP (Work In Progress) that I’m going to complete. I can’t remember if I called this quilt “Metro” or “Metro Lines” it’s sandwiched and ready to be quilted.

I have five more days in Month 1 to complete this baby quilt. I decided to quilt it with my walking foot and make large wavy lines. I posted two pictures showing my progress. I know I will complete this before the thirty-first. I think I’m going to quilt a few more wavy lines between each row.

I’m almost finished. I added the binding; last hand stitch and wash. I’ll make my deadline.

New Beginnings . . . Week 52

One week to go or should I say, finito. This is it! It’s finished! I did it! A new project every week for fifty-two weeks. I’m elated! I finished my challenge for the year. Below are pictures of my last project. It’s a combination neckwarmer/hoodie (it’s similar to a neck gaiter). Throughout my year of creating, making and sewing projects. I realize that “There’s nothing new under the sun.”

New Beginnings . . . Week 51

Two weeks to go . . . Still on my quest to make as many gifts as I can. What will I add to my list? I crocheted a pair of Super Easy Slippers by Made With Love By Glama. I loved her video tutorial; tips and techniques were great. She has several videos on making slippers. I’m going to make another pair when I’m not pressed for time.

New Beginnings . . . Week 50

Three weeks to go . . . I’m still working on my Christmas gifts. I decided to make a DIY Style Pull Thru Fleece Scarf , and it’s reversible.

New Beginnings . . . Week 49

Four weeks to go . . . WOW, I can’t believe I’m almost there! This was a journey and I loved every minute of it. Let’s see what this week will bring; something out of the box. Maybe! I decided to make another fleece hat with ear flaps, so I used the Crafty Gemini’s DIY tutorial. I also made more reversible fleece neck warmers, and reversible fleece cowls.

Five weeks to go . . . continue making gifts. I made another fleece item from Angel Hickman Peterson’s website http://www.Fleecefun.com. She has a lot of free and easy patterns; nice gifts to make and give for the holiday. I made a quick; child size, fleece hat with ear flaps.

New Beginnings . . . Week 47

Six weeks to go . . . This week I’m going to work on gifts. I found some quick and easy gifts to make with fleece, so I made a neck warmer, hat, mittens, and fingerless gloves.

New Beginnings . . . Week 46

Seven weeks to go . . . I guess I should start my holiday gift making. Well, I didn’t start my gift making because I had a very busy week, and my weekend was full too. I took a Nuno Felt Workshop on Saturday with Josie Dakers; sponsored by NJMQG (North Jersey Modern Quilt Guild). I really enjoyed creating my masterpiece. Josie creates beautiful felted scarves; after creating mine, I truly appreciate the fibers of her being.

New Beginnings . . . Week 45

Eight weeks to go . . . I got a jump on my project this week and made two Fleece Neck Warmers. I used the tutorial by Apple Green Cottage. I used fleece and minky fabrics for my neck warmers.

New Beginnings . . . Week 44

Nine weeks to go . . . Wow! I can’t believe it! The weeks have gone by sooooo fast. What will I create this week? I decided to make me a pair of slippers. I found a free pattern on Pretty Prudent’s website. This was my first time using Minky fabric, so messy, but I’m pleased with the end results.
