New Beginnings . . . Week 23

Thirty weeks to go . . . thinking about making a bucket hat for my youngest grandson. I saw a free pattern by Liesl Gibson.

Oh well, I didn’t make it in time this week. I started at 8 pm on Sunday. So, I am late posting my project. I am trying to get my project completed before Sunday, but as we all know procrastination is a waste of time. However, I did make the reversible bucket hat.

New Beginnings . . . Week 20

Thirty-three weeks to go . . . What will tickle my fancy this week?

I decided to keep it simple because I went away this week, and didn’t have time to be overly creative. While I was away; I went to the Grand Canyon. I purchased a coin purse. I really like the simplicity and fabric of the coin purse; it can also be worn around your neck. So, I decided to make my very own coin purse without the string. I guesstimated the measurements. The results are posted; pictures of the purchased coin purse and pictures of the one I made.

New Beginnings . . . Week 18

Thirty-five weeks to go . . . Today was a great day to be creative. So, I decided to make a Mini Sew Together Bag; pattern by Michelle of  SewDemented, and the conversion worksheet for the mini was created by Elizabeth E. of OPQuilt.com. The original Sew Together Bag pattern is needed for the conversion. I also used the Sew Along tutorial that I found on The Quilt Barn‘s blog.
Wow! I can’t believe it! I finished it! This is a first for me, since I began my New Beginnings Challenge. I’m usually rushing to create something on Sunday; just to meet my deadline. WooHoo!

New Beginnings . . . Week 17

Thirty-six weeks to go . . . I haven’t got a clue! Not sure what I’ll create this week.

Another busy week, spending time with family and friends. We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday on Saturday, April 29th. So, I didn’t have time to think about making anything, until today. Since my guild NJMQG ( North Jersey Modern Quilt Guild) will be making the Open Wide Zippered Pouch: DIY Tutorial by Anna Graham. I decided to have a dry-run and make a sample first. You can find the tutorial at Noodlehead.

New Beginnings . . . Week 16

Thirty-seven weeks to go . . . Where will my creativity and the Internet take me this week?!

I didn’t make it in time! I’m sixteen minutes late, but I did finish my project for week 16. I made another One Hour Basket; mine took much longer because I made a scrappy quilt as you go exterior (front and back). You will love this quick and easy project. 1 Hour Basket Tutorial

New Beginnings . . . Week 15

Thirty-eight weeks to go . . . I’m thinking about making a wall organizer for some of my sewing tools.

I have so much stuff; buttons, zippers, grommets, velcro, you name it. At least, I thought I had it. I completed the sewing part of the craft room hanging organizer, and the last step was to add grommets for hanging. Oh well!, guess what happened? I couldn’t find the grommets for my organizer. I know I have some, but where is the question. That’s what happens when your sewing room is unorganized. So, I’m posting my finished craft room hanging organizer without the grommets. I will re-post when I add them. I really enjoyed making this hanging organizer. It was quick and easy; just remember to have all your materials before you start. I added my grommets!
